Cardiology department at Winter Haven is just awesome. The search for the perfect cardiologist is over, Dr. Evans, you have my heart. My husband has been struggling with a heart condition for over 10 years and we have been jumping from hospital to hospital to find the perfect solution. No one was able to take him on as a patient until Winter Haven. Even if its an open heart surgery, these surgeons are the best- they are not scared or nervous, very efficient, tell you everything that’s about to happen and are basically the super heroes of the cardiology/ER department. Followed up immediately and regularly after and before the surgery, helped massively in his recovery and I saw a side of my husband I hadn’t seen in a while. He seemed at peace.

Was exactly the kind of rescue I was looking for winter haven has it all the doctors, the nurses, the technicians, the housekeeping employees, everyone is just so darned nice and in a town where I was feeling wildly unwelcome I felt happy and welcomed with open arms. Thank you, nurse Jordan for being such a terrific listener, BTW- and special compliments to Dr. Joe for your constant support and care.

Hi, I'm Dr. Cohen Clarke.
Looking for an er that will treat you with a modicum of respect? Keep looking. . . tell you, Winter haven has some of the worst doctors in the world. So freaking arrogant and god knows why, most of them didn’t even pass med school. Ugh. First of all let me just be clear: I’m not from Florida, I had come to visit my son and daughter in law. That’s when I had an asthma attack and my inhaler was running out so my son took me to Winter Haven. Was surprised by how long they made us wait. Do they not know how asthma patients cannot afford to “wait?” or is that so hard to understand?

When I talked to the receptionist who was really trying hard to keep it together (it was a very busy day) she just looked at me with puppy dog eyes and almost wet herself). This is just not done. Get someone who is more assertive and strong hearted. When we finally got into the er I noticed one of my old med school friends as the physician looking at me. As a doctor myself I hate being checked out by other doctors but somehow this was so much worse. A friend of mine who was basically flunking out of med school was in charge of me. Such a frustrating moment- ican’t even explain it. Just wanted to throw my hands in the air and leave right then. . .

Been visiting Winter Haven since forever and love everything about this place. But the best part is the volunteers and often they are the most neglected too. No one seems to notice them but during my stay I had the best volunteer care for me and run around and bring things for me according to my needs. This helped restore my faith in humanity (heehee). Thanks, Tess.

If you ever need to get a hip replacement surgery done, Winter Haven is your safe haven! Not to mention ever efficient, backed by a wonderful team of medical employees who have dedicated their lives to tirelessly helping the sick. I can’t tell you how pleased I was with my treatment over here. Made some really good friends with the nurses and doctors, and had some really intense conversations with other employees *not disclosing any names as promised* but honestly it didn’t even feel like a hospital stay.

Otherwise why would I sound like a hyperactive teenager on coke for a hip replacement surgery! But trust me, they know exactly what they’re doing. Whether it was the surgery prep before the actual surgery, the actual surgery, or the recovery process afterward- everything crossed my expectations. Everyone involved in the process was super sweet and caring.

More than anything else they were understanding of my situation, were extremely helpful and never once complained about my random screaming pangs in the middle of the night. Safe to ay that I had a pleasant experience here. Shout out to all the floor nurses, the technicians who helped with my results, the staff at the cafeteria, the housekeeping members who kept my room tidy and clean.. .EVERYONE. I am so thankful!
