Do not believe everything you read.

I had to visit the ER one early afternoon after I started sweating a lot and had dull chest pain. I was initially hesitant to visit this hospital because I read many negative reviews about this hospital on various forums. But I had no other option. I am glad I went there. I was seen very quickly. I was triaged very fast and given a bed. The doctor came and ordered some tests, which unfortunately came back positive for a minor heart attack. I was advised overnight stay for observation. I agreed. I must say, I was taken good care of by some of the most wonderful nurses I have ever met. They were extremely attentive and consistently kept checking in on me. The doctor was very patient and communicative. The next morning, I underwent one more test, and I was given an all clear. What was a stressful and scary emergency visit turned out to be very pleasant and comfortable given the circumstances.

Cross your fingers if you have to visit this joke of an emergency room, which unfortunately is the only one in the town. They do not accept most of the insurances. The staff also has an attitude. I decided to seek care at Norfolk, and it was the best decision I took. Trust me, the drive to Norfolk for getting proper medical care is worth it.

My daughter cut her foot very badly while roaming around. Since we were new to this town, we were advised to visit Outer Banks Hospital. We rushed her there. The staff took her in immediately. They started cleaning the wound while we filled up the paperwork. Once done, they called in for the doctor who stitched up the wound pretty fast. He advised follow up in three weeks with our local PCP and offered to talk with him if required. That was nice. It is nearly three months after that ordeal. If you look at my daughter’s foot, you won’t realize that it had nine stitches.
