St Vincent's Medical Center Riverside situated in Jacksonville, FL is only interested in money and not your health. For them what matters more is the amount of money that can be squeezed out of a patient, even if they have insurance. If you don't pay upfront, then they threaten to cancel the test. So what if you die, at least they would get the money upfront. I am really appalled by their behavior. They are so mean that they won’t even reveal the real price of the tests which I supposed to undergo. Fake religious hypocrites

We had a good hospital experience at St Vincent's Medical Center Riverside. My wife had undergone a right knee replacement and was discharged a fortnight back. Everyone treated us well, right from the valet to the doctor who signed the papers for her discharge. The valet even helped me in getting things into the car and offered to go to the hospital when I realized that I had forgotten the medicines in the room. The staff never made us feel bad about anything and ensured that both of us were comfortable. While the entire medical staff was excellent and highly professional, the night nurse was the best. The nurse was on top of the game and always ready to help with even small things. The food was good, and the room was also spotless. We were lucky that we got a room that had a wonderful view of the river.

St Vincent's Medical Center calls me ten days before the scheduled surgery and demands upfront payment of $5,000. I talked with my insurance guy who checked and reported that the surgery should not cost more than a few hundred dollars. The insurance person even tried calling the hospital but was not able to get through. I contacted the hospital who said the billing department would call the insurance and do what is necessary.

On the day of the surgery, which was at 6:30 AM, the hospital again demands five thousand dollars upfront. I was shocked. When I told them that I was informed the cashier was supposed to call my insurance company, I was told that nobody called anybody and if the money was not paid, they might cancel the surgery. After much haggling, I paid $1500 upfront. The final bill came to 375. I asked them about a refund and was told it would be refunded to my credit card. Three days later, the card company informs me nothing is pending. I call the hospital, was informed it will take up to seven to ten days, but these idiots sent a mail in which they promised the money would be credited within two working days. I call the card company after ten days, nothing pending. Unbelievable! Even though the staff is wonderful and I had a successful surgery, I am not sure if I would be stepping into this hospital ever again

Women's Center at St Vincent's Medical Center Riverside rocks!!! If you wish to have mammograms, then this is the place to be. They have a friendly and most caring staff right from the check-in to the doctor who reads the images. Very compassionate, values privacy and dedicated to the patient’s health. That summarizes the St Vincent's Medical Center Riverside for me.

A wonderful hospital that knows how to treat people. Yes, there might be issues, but these are few and far between. INCREDIBLY impressed by the quality of care and service! Everyone, from the receptionist to the doctor, who released me was great. Thank you!
