My sister recently had to get a hip injection and was referred to this hospital by her PCP. We had some pretty bad experiences here, so was not quite sure if this was the ideal place to get the injection. Still, we went to the hospital, and I am delighted that we did. The front desk and administration were accommodating and helped us in filling out the forms as well as showing the way to the procedure room. We were guided to a wonderful doctor (cannot recall his name) who was very knowledgeable and knew what he did. He explained the procedure in detail and encouraged my sister to ask any questions that she might have. However, the star of the day was the nurse who was in charge of the preparation protocol. She not only took the vitals but was also present during the procedure just to assure and comfort my sister. Never saw anything like that ever. Very happy with the way the whole thing went off. Thanks to every single individual who were involved in my sister’s care.

A wonderful community hospital in the greater Bangor area. Whatever be the emergency or illness, the community is assured that they would be taken good care of by this hospital. My family has been associated with this hospital for the past two decades and have seen how the hospital has developed. Happy that we have St. Joe’s in our neighborhood.

I just cannot understand what is it with billing and St. Joe’s. The guys have three separate billing areas. I was a regular at St Joseph IM for a few years now. The St. Joe hospital does the billing for the IM department. This creates a lot of confusion. No one has any knowledge about what happens in the other department. Most often than not, I have to visit or call the billing department for getting a correct copy. There were few instances where I was billed wrongly, went to the ER and was billed for a minor procedure; my name was spelled wrong, the age was different. The worst part is that these people are least concerned about it. They always try to pass the blame onto others. After numerous such episodes, I have decided to switch my care and have gone to another hospital. However, I still have to deal with this stupid billing department. God knows how long I am stuck with this hospital…cannot bear it anymore.
