This review is for the Cardiovascular Lab. MY brother had a peaceful and seamless experience. The techs who run the show at this lab are great, have excellent bedside manners, and are very professional. The results were delivered to us within the specified timeframe. The follow up was also done pretty quickly when they realized that there was a small window of opportunity. I loved the waiting area at this lab. It had a strange sort of calmness to it. It was a big bonus. One can sit here and ponder over what next in life while waiting for your loved one or waiting for a test. And yes, you get a free coffee to tide over any anxiety issues.

My wife received outstanding care at South Shore. Jeannie was involved in a major accident, and she was taken care of by trauma, neurology, and orthopedics. Trauma services took the lead. They directed her care and ensured that she had all her tests completed promptly, which made the diagnosis and treatment of her injuries a much easier task. The nurses were also outstanding. We could not have got or asked for anything more.

My PCP referred me to South Shore for my day surgery. I was not very sure about the hospital as I had heard a lot of horror stories about it. But I trusted my PCP and knew she would only give good advice and won’t refer me to some goddamn hospital. I visited the hospital and was in for a pleasant surprise. Every single person whom I encountered at this hospital was great. The nurses were also wonderful; every single one of them – pre-op, Surgery, and PACU nurses. They were very helpful and went out of their way to make a stressful day, much less stressful. Thank you, Dr. Harris, for referring me to this hospital. I won’t hesitate to return for any minor surgeries or tests.

South Shore Billing Department is into the business of robbing you in broad daylight. The modus operandi is very simple. You will be informed that your insurance is covered here, and when you fall into their trap, the bill will be inflated to a great extent. Do not believe me...then look at what happened to me.

I had visited the doctor at South Shore for abdominal pain and was advised to undergo a CT scan (a fairly routine practice at South Shore). It might not have taken more than five minutes, tops six, not more than that. Guess what the bill was? I was billed $5,753 for 5 minutes. Do the math yourself, and you can see how they would cheat you. These blood-sucking parasites would not even hesitate to charge you $100 for a strip of aspirin. They are very shameless. Worse, they are not ready to show the various charges…the bill is just one line. Absolutely disgusting. Please stay away from this hospital even in case of an emergency. Drive a little further and go to Boston. This hospital should be shuttered. Disgusting.

The quality of care at South Shore Hospital is not up to the mark. The staff gives you a very cold vibe and makes you feel that they are doing a favor by seeing you and treating you when it is actually you who is footing the bill. The nurses are very rude and clearly ignorant about HIPAA. The hospital premises is also not clean. Won’t even bring my dead dog here.
