I was admitted here for two days and in those two days I had enough of their crap. Their service sucks. The doctors think they are god and they treat you disrespectfully. The nurses are no less as well. The two days I had to spend at Sidell sucked pretty much.

Most of the time, I was left alone. Nobody even bothered to check on me for hours together; just to even see if I was alive or dead. If I wanted some water or if I had to use the bathroom, I had to keep calling those stupid nurses again and again until they finally appear in front of me.

I strongly feel the hospital needs to appoint more staff who are compassionate towards their patients and empathetic to their needs.

ER of a hospital is the place I fear the most because of their crazy wait timings but I was pleasantly taken aback by the ER of sidell memorial. They didn’t make us wait even for 10 minutes. I accompanied a friend of mine here and I saw the hospital staff taking very good care of her. They were efficient in their work and very patient and caring to my friend.

The place was well maintained and clean and the best part, there was no hospital kind of a smell. The lady at the reception took efforts to make me feel comfortable as well.

I don’t think there is anything more one expects from a hospital.

2 stars because I delivered my child here a few years back and then the doctor and the nurses who were in charge of my case took amazing care of both of us. And it was simply because of the wonderful pre and post pregnancy care that I received here, I had recommended this place to my aunt for my cousin’s treatment. I do not wish to disclose all the details because it pains me to go through it all over again and pen down the same.

Let me be up front in saying this – the nurses they have now or at least the ones who were supposed to take care of my cousin behaved in way, entirely unbecoming of any nurse. They are such cold hearted people who do not even know the meaning of compassion.

I have already made a mistake by recommending this place to my loved ones and now I regret for the same. Kindly do not make the same mistake that I did.

Worse than horrible

Yes! You read that right! The place is worse than horrible. When a person is rushed into the emergency, the hospital staff is supposed to look into it immediately and take measures to somehow save the person’s life. But here people do not even understand the word emergency.
Right in front of my eyes, I saw someone lose their precious life because the lazy staff over here were busy tapping their phones than attending to that patient in need. Such a sorry state of affairs! Do not ever bring your loved ones here!

I had one of the most horrible experiences of my life when I brought in my dad here. I would be bad on my part if I do not acknowledge the helpful nature of the nurses, even though it was nothing remarkable; but the doctors here, I seriously do not know what they think of themselves. They act as if they have directly descended from the heaven and treat you in a very rude and unprofessional manner.

My dad was put in ICU for no obvious reasons and discharged two days later so that they could charge us for a hefty bill. Worst place to be! Never going in there!

ER here is a joke!

If you have an emergency, I would earnestly request you to choose some other place than this. My husband brought me here when I complained of unbearable chest pain. There was nobody to attend to us in the reception and my husband had to keep knocking on the staff door for 10 minutes in order to get some attention.

An ER should always have a duty doctor and his/her team of nurses irrespective of what time of the day it is. This is a clear negligence and dereliction of duty on their part. Half an hour we wasted here and still nothing was done. So, unable to bear the pain any longer, I asked my husband to take me elsewhere.

You will grow roots deep down into the earth because of the waiting time at this hospital. Thank god I never had to be rushed here because of an emergency; I dunno if I would survive given their wait time. But because of my insurance, I have to come here if at all I have any medical issues. Even if I take an appointment for a particular time, they make me wait till the end of time. At times, I even manage to catch up on a good sleep in their lobby. And there are a few lucky days too, when I go back empty handed without seeing the doctor because he was not available.

If you have a choice, then please do not choose Slidell Memorial
