Last month, I had to use the Emergency service of Norwalk Hospital. I walked in at 2:00 am and was pleasantly surprised by the treatment I got at this ungodly hour. I had severe backache and ended up needing a catheter installation. The ER doctor and nurses were terrific and had excellent bedside manners. The ER staff quickly admitted me. I was attended to by a wonderful PA who was compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable. He did an exceptional job. The PA is definitely is an asset to Norwalk Hospital.

I had an excellent surgical experience, if there is a thing like that. I was involved in a pile-up and needed emergency surgery. The ER team was wonderful and did the initial preparatory work quickly, and I was transferred to surgery. The operation was handled by a group of surgeons who were very friendly and made sure that my family understood why I was having this surgery. The surgical team also made sure that my family was regularly updated on my status.

After a three-hour-long surgery, I was shifted to the ICU and then the floor where exceptional care continued…

After a fortnight stay here, I was discharged. The thing which impressed my family and me was the fact that the doctors were kind and frank. They did not hide anything. The rooms were also very clean. I would highly recommend this hospital.

Norwalk Hospital, located on 34 Maple Street is the worst. A majority of the nurses, especially the nurses who run the ER, and even the technician were rude. They did not know how to interact with patients. There was no human compassion…we were all a number. The nurses in the ER did not hesitate to shout down patients and were rude to everybody. I had to visit the ER and was advised an x-ray. The x-ray was done was a tech who was ruder than the ER nurse.

As if this was not enough, some bugger stole my new phone while I had gone to the x-ray. The hospital was of no help when I complained to them…The whole visit has pissed me off!!!!

Worst hospital ever!!! I am planning to shift my care to Danbury Hospital; it is a much nicer place.

I had to rush to the ER after I accidentally cut myself. The in-take nurse took her own sweet time to take me in. Once taken in, I was made to wait for three hours in a near-deserted ER. The reason, they could not find a doctor. Finally, when the doctor came, he tried to rush through the care. He tried to stitch up the wound without cleaning the wound or flushing it….I had to stop him and forced him to clean the wound and then stitch it up. Further, I got no tetanus shot.

I was fed up and left after the wound was stitched. I had to visit an Urgent Care two days later as the stitched wound got infected and had to be cleaned and re-stitched.

Won’t be back even in my next 100 births.

I had a severe bacterial infection, and my vitals were down. I was at the risk of multiple organ failure. My wife got my care transferred here from Danbury. The care which I got here was amazing. They gave me respect and dignity. We also found them highly professional. I do not have any complaints against them. Well done, Norwalk Hospital. You took good care of me
