Northern Westchester Hospital is nothing short of a great hospital. The staff who runs the show – the doctors, nurses, and techs take outstanding care of you. They make frequent checks on you to ensure that you are doing great. They do an excellent job of explaining the procedures and treatment in detail and in a simple language. I can say that communication here is two-way communication. There is no hesitation in saying that this is a wonderful hospital.

Boy, how can they be so inconsiderate?

I had to take my 75-year-old father to NWH ER after he complained of severe upper chest pain that was radiating to the jaw and the left hand. We entered the ER at 2: 00 PM and walked out only after 10:00 PM. The only things that they did during the initial hours of the waiting were taking vitals and draw some blood. No chest x-ray or EKG despite him complaining of chest pain.

There was no dearth of people visiting him during the initial hours. After a wait of five hours, my father was taken back to the room where a harried doctor came and did what can only be called a “super quick evaluation.” He ordered an EKG and went off, not to be seen again. A one-hour wait ensued before the EKG was performed. The result was given by a nurse, who said that there was nothing wrong and he was being discharged. With that, the discharge papers were given.

So at the end of an eight-hour wait, there was no clue as to what happened to my father and why did he have the chest pain and would it happen again…..nothing. Felt, we wasted our time here. He would have received much better care at an Urgent Care

This is strictly a visitor’s review. I have been to NWH numerous times over the past eight months with different people for different reasons. So I have seen this hospital and its various departments. The people who staff this hospital are nice fellas. They do not hesitate in going beyond the call of duty in ensuring the patients are recovering well and are being taken very good care of. The only blip is the food options…well it is not great, but then we aren’t visiting hospital for eating.

This review is on behalf of my wife... She is blown away by the care she received here. She was here following a bike accident. She might have waited in the waiting room for no more than 10 minutes. The nurses and the doctors were careful and attentive to her needs. She was in an out of the hospital in less than two hours….now that is a breeze

Northern Westchester Hospital ER stinks. I had gone there after my high fever was not going down, and it was accompanied by a pounding headache. I was clearly in discomfort, and the ER nurse could see it. Yet, he was inattentive and not empathetic. I was taken back to the room after nearly two hours, and the doctor just prescribed some antibiotics and walked off…nothing about why I got the fever and certainly nothing for my pounding headaches.

It was a waste of my time and money. The next time, I will drive to Valhalla to seek care…at least I would be treated as a human being!!!!!
