My husband needed urgent medical attention, and we rushed him to Methodist Hospital of Chicago. The best decision we made in a while. Bob was taken in the moment we arrived. He received competent care from very professional and knowledgeable staff. Four days later, he was walking out whistling, something we never imagined we would see when we brought him here. We were thoroughly impressed by the professionalism and the kindness of the entire staff

STAY AWAY!!!!!

An old place that just forgot to get updated. Most of the elevators in the building do not work, at least when I was there. There are not enough signage which would tell you where you are and where you want to go. The place is dirty, very dirty. I had gone to visit a friend, and he said that the staff was also very rude and nasty. Long story short, a pathetic place to get medical attention.

Not only is the place outdated, but there seems to be no coordination between departments. I had gone there for a simple procedure that should not have taken more than 15 minutes, but I had to wait for nearly four hours for that because somebody failed to inform the doctor about it. Finally, when it was all ready, a novice came to set up the IV, and as is the case with all novices, she ended up puncturing my hand because she could not get a vein. She said that I had “light veins.” No idea what that meant…

Reinforcements were called. The senior nurse came and set the whole thing up in a jiffy…the difference, she set it up on the right hand while the novice was busy puncturing my left hand. How could you not know even that?

Pathetic!!!

I have no idea about how other departments are being run, but I can say that the outpatient department which caters to endoscopy and colonoscopy is run excellently. The department is staffed by many professionals who check and double-check the equipment, patient, patient history of allergies, etc. The only hiccup was the delayed sending of report to my PCP

I have seen many people thrashing this hospital in various forums, but I had had a completely different experience when I went to the ER here. I had a deep gash from a nasty fall and was bleeding profusely. The ER nurses and the doctors were very friendly, and I did not have to wait for long before being seen by the doc. The wound was cleaned promptly, and the doctors stitched the wound up in a less than a minute. He was a pro. The sutures were placed so flawlessly that there was no scar when the wound healed. Agreed the hospital is a bit outdated, but I think the staff is very much up-to-date and surely know how to handle things. Won’t hesitate to return
