Disgusting!!! I was in the ER for a minor medical emergency. While I was waiting for the doctor, a girl walks in with a bleeding hand, and the nurse asks her to wait for some time. The girl comes and sits beside me; her hand was still dripping blood. She gets called in after 20 minutes and then walks out after 25 minutes. Once she was taken in, I thought that the housekeeping staff would come and clean the blood. I waited for another 35 minutes before being called in. While I was walking out, I could still see the blood on the floor. It felt yucky. This has left a bad taste, and I am not sure if I would be back. The care was good, but this is basic. Very disappointed!!!

I underwent major heart surgery at Mercy General Hospital this February. I was under the care of some of the most experienced surgeon, doctors, and nurses. The surgeon who operated upon me was a gentleman. The ICU doctors and nurses were also very caring and helpful. I stayed there for nearly a week, and I am very satisfied with the way these folks have treated me

Absolute lack of communication between various departments. I had a scheduled CT with contrast as prescribed by my PCP. I was asked to come at 10:00 AM. I come a few minutes early and check with the front desk, and they said it is on time. The scheduled time comes and goes. In fact, I end up waiting for an hour for someone to call me in. Frustrated, I go and inquire with the tech, and he was shocked when I said I have been waiting for an hour. It turns out my name is not on the list. The lady who answered my call and promised that the CT had been scheduled apparently forgot to inform the lab about the same. Because of the forgetfulness of one idiot, I ended up wasting nearly two hours. Was really pissed off, but then controlled my anger and walked out, never to return.

I had the fortune of being treated by Dr. Amna Ahmad. She is a rock star. She treated me respectfully, answered every question of mine with a smile. The other doctors in the hospital are also good, but this lady treats her patients with TLC. I had visited the hospital after a little gnawing pain was refusing to go away. She heard me out, did a thorough evaluation, and then addressed my problem. It helps a lot when you have a doc who listens to you rather than the other way round.

This was my first visit to the ER, and I was really nervous. The staff, as well as the doctor, were polite and competent professionals. They ensured that I was provided care first, and then they got down to collecting billing information, which ensured that the care was not dependent on the type of insurance I had. I did not face any horror stories that have been peddled around about this hospital. Even though I do not intend to visit this hospital in my lifetime, I at least know that there is a great hospital who would take excellent care of me if need arises
