And finally, I am home. It has been a terrible time for me…two ER visits, 3 surgeries, and a 20-day hospital stay, all in two months. All for a rare congenital problem that was hidden for 45 years of my life and a reason for all my breathing problems. Well, who caught the problem? JFK DID!! Thanks to them, I have got a new lease of life. I am writing this sitting on a couch in my home before I could forget things.

Mind you, JFK is not your seven-star hospital with all glitz and glamor. It is an old building that has gone through a few renovations. It is not new to me. I have been to a few hospitals that are more than 100 years old. While these hospitals, as well as JFK, lack the visual appeal and oomph, they make it up through their patient care. Patient care at JFK is handled by a bunch of very talented and highly competent team of doctors and nurses.

The staff works like a well-oiled machine. Everything moves in sync. All the nurses and doctors involved in the care knew what my problem was, and they played their part perfectly. I was not your ideal patient and made a lot of fuss and mayhem, but they were very patient with me.

The doctors and nurses also had the courtesy of informing my wife and me what my problem was, what they found, what was done, and how they plan to move forward. Always pleasant. They took time to make me comfortable and feel less anxious. Thanks to them, I have a new lease of life, and I can finally do what I always dreamt of

This review is primarily for the anesthesiologist as well as the person who was supposed to inform my wife about my status.

The nurses, doctors, the surgeon, front desk, and even the guards are wonderful. They do take good care of you. However, my near-perfect day was ruined by an incompetent anesthesiologist who could not determine the amount of anesthesia required and nearly ended up killing me.

My procedure went off well, but after the screw-up, the person responsible for letting my wife know my status did not do it. This despite me informing them that my wife is my emergency contact. When no news came about my progress, my wife inquired but was bluntly told that this information could not be given to her. She is my direct contact person.

After the anesthesiologist screwed up, the hospital had to arrange for another anesthesiologist who could help me get out of trouble. In short, what should have been a 30-minute procedure became a 5-hour ordeal.

Unless you want to get your incurvated toenail out or want to pop a blister, this is not the hospital that you should visit...

Wonderful hospital and exceptional staff. I came in with my wife via ambulance into the ER a few days back. The ER was packed like sardines in a jar, and I thought my wife wouldn’t be able to see the doctor. But guess what, she was seen after three hours. Have to say that everyone involved in her care was friendly & professional. After a few tests, my wife was discharged. Highly impressed by the quality of care on offer. Will definitely be back in case of any medical exigency

We had a very wonderful experience at this hospital. My husband had to be admitted here for a few days, and the care which he got here was exceptional. The entire tone was set by the wonderful young man who was at the reception when we came in. He was friendly, had a beaming smile, and helped us complete the formalities in a jiffy. He even took us to the ER waiting area.

The ER nurse and doctors were fantastic and provided the best care from their end. However, my husband had to be admitted for further care and observation. The exceptional care even continued here.

Long story short, received fantastic care and had a pleasant experience at a great hospital
