My wife spent two weeks in the ICU with ARDS and pneumonia. She was taken good care of by some of the incredibly wonderful and highly competent doctors and nurses that we have known. Fairview’s staff are thoughtful and patient. They had the time to answer every single question that we shot at them. They did a very wonderful job of taking care of my wife. We are thankful to FSH.

Never again, never ever again would I consider this hellhole or equally worthless ER for taking care of my healthcare needs. I would talk with my loved ones, friends and even co-workers that they also need to avoid this shithole. If my experience was bad in one or two places, then I could have considered visiting again, but the bad experience has been at various levels. I deeply regret that I did not listen to my co-workers who had warned me against visiting this shithole. Please, I sincerely request everybody to consider going some better hospital which can give better care!

Make sure that you ask your PCP to schedule your surgery at different hospitals and try to dissuade them from recommending you to this shithole for anything. I mean how can you trust a hospital if the nurses are found sleeping when they should have been taking care of patients. How can you trust a hospital when the surgical teams that are ill-staffed and nurses speak badly about their Emergency Department? How can you trust a hospital where the primary aim to get the money first and then look after the patients?

If I go on, then this review will become a novel. Please take the advice seriously and use another hospital.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL.

I was stung by a wasp and had an adverse reaction in the middle of the night. I was alone and was just not able to find a hospital. By the time I could find a hospital, the sting had increased to the size of a toast. I finally ended the search at the emergency room of Fairview Southdale Hospital. It was pretty late, but the staff was accommodating. It turns out I only needed a steroid shot. They asked me to stay back at the hospital and take necessary medicines when the pharmacy open, rather than going and coming back when the pharmacy opens. They were also very jovial. I had a positive experience at this hospital.

Fairview Southdale Hospital is horrid. In case you happen to visit to FSH emergency room, then be prepared to fork out your credit card before even a doctor sees you. They need your credit card even if you have health insurance. Also if your insurance company delays the payment or responds a little slow, then you are sent to collections. I did not even receive an intimation from my health insurance on the things that were covered, but started getting calls from a collection agency – I am talking about three weeks after attending the ER.

Be your judge and avoid this horrid place.

I have been to this hospital many times; our son was born here, I had few ambulatory procedures, visited the ER. Every single time, I was treated well and had some wonderful, compassionate and knowledgeable staff to look after me. The nurses are brilliant, and so are the doctors. Highly impressed. Whenever I need care, I know where to turn to. I have not experienced any type of bad level of care here, and I am sure I would not have any in the future also.
