Well, as usual, I ended up in the local hospital with giddiness, palpitations and severe head injury and was transferred to Bakersfield Heart Hospital. Went by ambulance and almost immediately got the necessary attention. Thanks to the wonderful doctor and nurses in the Bakersfield Heart Hospital ER, I am alive today to write this review. My wife counted at least six nurses in my room at one stage, all of them trying to stabilize me. Copious amount of blood had been lost, and my blood pressure was jumping around. Extremely grateful for the exceptional care. Was shifted from the ER to ICU, had the same exceptional care which was again repeated when I was shifted to the floor. Stayed there for a week and was looked after very well by an excellent team of nurses, CNAs, and doctors. Cannot thank Bakersfield Heart Hospital enough for keeping me alive.

I had gone to the Bakersfield Heart Hospital ER around 1:00 pm for getting some test done. I waited till 8:00 pm but no tests were conducted. There was a complete lack of communication between the staff and me. The fun part was the nurse did not recognize me when I went to ask her how much more should I wait. It dawned very late on her that she had asked me to wait while she went to check the lab. She sheepishly told she had forgotten about me. She had the gumption to ask me to come again the next day for the tests as the tech had already left for the day by 5:00 pm. Thanks, but no thanks. Would get myself tested at some other hospital.

Bad news! Staff at Bakersfield Heart Hospital are very lax in their care for the patients. I was shifted from the ICU to the floor, and the male nurse just went away. He did not see that my IV was empty. There was nothing present to get his attention, no bells nothing. He was busy talking with the on-call doctor and the patient next door. I finally got his attention by kicking out the table which again he left near my legs. Had heard a lot about this hospital, but the experience has left a bitter taste and not sure I would come back or even recommend anybody.

My mother was transferred to this hospital from Mercy South West after she got a heart attack while undergoing treatment there. She was brought in an ambulance, and she received immediate attention. The medical team was wonderful and operated her and placed three stents in her. She was later shifted to a clean private room. The cardiologist and the nursing staff was also wonderful. Thanks to them, my mother received excellent care and is alive today.

I have come across some negative reviews about this place on this forum as well as various other forums, but honestly, I have not seen them. I am a regular here and visit this hospital for all my heart needs, and so does my family and also my extended family. From housekeeping staff, nursing assistants, nurses, technicians, to doctors, everyone is compassionate, kind, and professional. My family has always received excellent care. All our concerns and questions are quickly addressed. The food is also tolerable. Cannot ask for anything more from a hospital.
